Climate Smart Communities (CSC) is an unprecedented state-local partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save taxpayer dollars and advance community goals for health and safety, economic vitality, energy independence and quality of life. As the Long Island Climate Smart Communities Coordinators, Cameron Engineering & Associates, LLP and the Sustainability Institute of Molloy College have been assisting municipalities with their efforts to lower greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for climate change by drafting local Climate Action Plans.
Any town, city, village, or county can become a Climate Smart Community by adopting at least the following 10 required elements of the CSC pledge:
